Future Architecture of Web Apps in Smalltalk

Hi All
I have an existing large application which does web and repository based collaborative enterprise modeling. It is written in VAST/Object Extender/Web Connect for the server/repository manager and has a browser based Graphical Modeling client written in Squeak.
I am considering options for a new version with a new architecture and am looking into:
- Seaside as a web and application framework
- Persistence frameworks/OODB's including Magma, Gemstone, GLORP, ...
- Aida as an alternate to Seaside
- Scribo (on Aida) or Pier (on Seaside) as CMS solutions
The target application will have to scale to dealing with hundreds of concurrent users and millions of objects.
So far, I am finding the interactivity potential (Ajax, full wrappering of HTML etc. ) of Seaside potentially very attractive. Although I like the ideas of Pier and Magritte, I have found documentation or helpful information lacking.
I would be interested to hear thoughts of others in this space or begin dialogues around these issues.
Thanks in advance..
